Global Change

In this module we will discuss the global water cycle, the global carbon cycle and the global cycles of nitrogen, phosphorus and sulfur. We will analyze how human activities cause e.g. changes in temperature and rainfall, increased N deposition, and land-use changes and how they interfere with these global biogeochemical cycles. Furthermore we will analyze how this may develop in the future. We will introduce the use of models in analyzing problems related to global change. The module includes lectures, a seminar part and modeling exercises.
