Seminars objectives:
Do I want to pursue a scientific career, or do I go a different way? How can I find out, what I want? Probably every student asks him- or herself these questions during a PhD. With a mix of knowledge transfer, self-reflection, exchange of personal experience and practical exercises, this seminar aims to provide the participants guidance in getting a clearer picture of themselves and their future.
To start, we take inventory of the participants’ personal and professional situation and a reflection of their own strengths and values, as well as factors they need for their job satisfaction. Based on this competency profile, we then look at the future and develop individual visions and formulate goals to achieve them.
Four weeks after the main workshop we meet again in a virtual follow-up, to reflect on the goal achieved so far and reflect on upcoming questions and thus enhance the motivation to continue the process of self-reflection.

  • Gain greater clarity in your personal and professional development
  • Identify individual competences, interests, and values
  • unfold your own potential
  • define goals and develop a vision for the future
