Changes in eco-hydrological functioning after tropical rainforest transformation to rubber and oil palm plantations

Alex Röll studied Forest Sciences and Forest Ecology with a focus on tropical forests. For his PhD, he focused on the ecohydrological consequences of rainforest transformation to rubber and oil palm plantations in Indonesia in the framework of the EFForTS project (sub-project A02). He continues to do so as a PostDoc, and is currently involved in developing and testing ways to assess water use characteristics based on drone-based photogrammetry and thermography.
