Beschreibung:
The political map in Indonesia were drastically changed since the reform movement 1998. The most important political reform related to forest resources is decentralization policy ? namely regional autonomy. Due to the ambiguity and contradictory regulations, however, during the process of decentralization, removal of central control over natural resources to the local authority led to virtually no control at all. Illegal logging spiraled upward and deforestation rate sharply increased. This research will analyze the consequences of decentralization policy to forest resources and regional economy, focused on the case of Jambi province, Indonesia.
