Local Solutions for Global Challenges - Projects in Biodiversity, Ecology, Evolution and Sustainability
After four successful runs of the Lecture Series in 2021 and 2022, we are happy to announce that the Lecture Series will continue in the summer semester starting in May and ending in July. Again, colleagues, scientists, and researchers from the University of Göttingen and associated networks, our liveSciences³ partner universities in Europe and Latin America, will enrich the Lecture Series with their inspiring talks. We invite you to join us in discussing current research questions addressing Global Challenges and offering Local Solutions. The overall topic: Projects in Biodiversity, Ecology, Evolution and Sustainability at the Georg-August University Göttingen and our partner universities.

An international Lecture Series with the focus on Local Solutions for Global Challenges - Projects in Biodiversity, Ecology, Evolution and Sustainability at the Georg-August University Göttingen and partner universities geared towards Master and PhD students and researchers from the life sciences.

Topics & Speakers
Researchers and advanced PhD candidates from a broad spectrum of disciplines will contribute their expertise and projects related to the biodiversity crisis, climate change, sustainable use of ecosystem resources, and evolutionary biology as the underlying force of life.

Can I get credits for taking part in the International Lecture Series?
The International Lecture Series is part of the key competencies module "SK.Forst.04: Local Solutions for Global Challenges (Seminar)" at the University of Göttingen. Students from Göttingen and all liveSciences³ partner universities can get a certificate of attendance and 3 credits after successful participation (including the exam).
For MSc BEE students the Lecture Series can instead be credited as colloquium in the module “M.Biodiv.417: Scientific project management and specific research methods”.
