Teacher: Dr. Markus Burger, slidewriting.com

Seminars objectives:
The goal of this seminar is to develop self-explanatory slides for your next important academic presentation, e.g. for a conference, a status update or your thesis defense. In the theory part, you will learn techniques for structuring complex information logically and for designing easy-to-understand slides. In the practice part, you will then apply these techniques to your very own research findings and produce your own presentation. By the end of the seminar, you will get a complete draft of your own academic presentation.
You will obtain three benefits:

  • Convince your audience with well-structured slides and presentations.
  • Save time and effort creating easy-to-understand slides
  • Condense your complex research findings to the short time-span of a presentation

Important: This seminar focuses on the logic of good presentations, not on using presentation software like PowerPoint. You only need to bring pen and paper, no laptops.

Credits: 1 Credit
Demands: Before the seminar, please submit a sample presentation of your research to markus.burger@slidewriting.com. Please do not produce anything new, just submit a presentation you already have.
In order to obtain a course certificate, it is necessary to actively participate in the seminar and to produce one written optimized slide and one written optimized presentation (both during the seminar).

Application:
Application starts 14.11.2016.
