Scholarship and support programme for international doctoral students (STIBET)

  • The social sciences and humanities offer a joint help desk for international PhD students as a contact point and for support in any personal or study-related questions.
  • The International Göttingen Graduate School for Neurosciences and Molecular Biosciences (GGNB) within GAUSS offers their doctoral students subject-specific methods courses twice a year, along with a wide range of extra-curricular options (‘key competences’, German and English courses, and others).
  • All graduate schools offer numerous subject courses as well as intercultural events and excursions to make it easier to make contacts in Göttingen and get to know Germany better.
  • By arranging tandem language partnerships and providing editing support for dissertations, as well as through teaching and research assistant opportunities, international doctoral students are provided support in achieving their qualifications and continuing on to careers in research.
