Chair of Management and Control
The Chair of Management and Control deals with different aspects of value-based management in the fields of teaching, research and practice. The different instruments, structures and processes of the value-based management are not only considered from a classical control point of view (performance measurement, system of financial control, management information system etc.), but also from a management based point of view (incentive systems, portfolio theory, diversification, strategic assessment of M&A-transactions, etc.). This happens according to the interface between management and control of the Chair.
The research of the Chair is primarily empirical, enriched by context specific formal and experimental research. The focus of research divides into three main areas:
- Determinants of value-based management,
- Tools of corporate management and
- Determinants of corporate governance systems.
