Prof. Dr. Hans J. Pongratz

Prof. Dr. Hans J. Pongratz was a visiting researcher at the Göttingen Diversity Research Institute from winter semester 2016/17 until summer semester 2017.

Hans J. Pongratz has been an adjunct professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München since 2012.

Hans J. Pongratz studied sociology, psychology, social and economic history at LMU Munich from 1978 to 1983. He earned his doctorate in 1990 at the Faculty of Education at the Universität der Bundeswehr München, where he also gained his Habilitation in 2002. He has held posts at the Universität der Bundeswehr in Munich (1985 - 1990) and has taught in Munich, Augsburg and Chemnitz (between 1992 and 2005). Besides his research activities he has also worked as a freelance communications and management trainer. Hans J. Pongratz has held visiting professorships in Hamburg (2003/04) and Konstanz (2005/06). From 2006 to 2011 he was acting professor for the former chair of Prof. Jutta Allmendinger at LMU Munich. From 2011 - 2015 he worked at ISF Munich.

Since 2015, Hans J. Pongratz has been working on the BMBF project "Crowdsourcees als Dienstleistende/Crowdsourcees' services in new value-added systems" at LMU Munich where he focuses on the diversification of digital services. Together with Andrea D. Bührmann he is one of the speakers of the working group "Die Arbeit der Selbstständigen" (Self-Employed Labour) of the German Sociological Association (GSA). Here, his focus is on the diversity of self-employment. Starting in the winter semester 2016/17, he is visiting professor at the Göttingen Diversity Research Institute.
