Application for the double degree programme

When you apply for the master's programme in Global Business, you can simultaneously apply to participate in the double degree programme.

What are the application requirements for the double degree programme?

A prerequisite for participation in the double degree programme is acceptance to the master's programme in Global Business. Eligibility criteria for the programme can be found in the regulations for admissions and in the admissions requirements for the master's programme in Global Business.

The double degree programme offers the opportunity to earn two degrees at two prestigious universities for high-achieving students. In order to apply for the double degree programme, you must have completed a bachelor's degree in a subject-relevant area or in an equivalent degree programme at the time of application or with at least 150 completed credit points

If there are more than five applicants, a selection committee will conduct an interivew with each applicant that will last around 15 minutes. Detailed information about the selection process can be found under the "Studien- und Prüfungsordnung des Master-Studiengangs Global Business" (§5) (Study and Examination Regulations of the Master's Programme in Global Business).

Which documents are needed for the application?

You apply as a normal student for the master's programme in Global Business at the University of Göttingen. Information about admissions and the application process is available here.

As part of the online application process for the master programme in Global Business, you will be asked if you would like to simultaneously apply for the double degree programme with Nanjing University. If you would like to do apply for the programme, complete the field in section 6 in the online application, and also submit the following additional application documents:

  • A motivation statement in English, which explains your interest in applying for the double degree programme, as well as your objective and expectations.

  • A CV in English, which provides a chronological overview of your education, and also shows your knowledge of practical subject-related work, other professional qualifications, and study abroad experiences.


Please note that transcripts submitted for the application for the master programme in global business must either include an overall grade point average of your studies or your grade point average from your completed courses from previous studies. Students must demonstrate advanced language skills in English, equivalent to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Language, or TOEFL ibt with at least 90 points or IELTS 7 (no section under 6) or other equivalent language test.

Applying for the double degree programme is always possible in the winter semester.
