Dr. Paolo Merante

Research interest and activities:

As agronomist I am interested in understanding the consequences of climate change impacts on crops and cropping systems and therefore analyse the implications of such impacts at farm level. To this regard I use crop simulation models to appraise performances, in terms of phenology, physiology and biomass, of various cropping systems under different climate conditions. I also like to exploit my agronomic knowledge and what I can learn from the modelling activity to discover and better understand the various facets related to environmental sustainability issues at farm level and beyond.
