Consumption and production patterns
Sustainable procurement
As a public institution, the University of Göttingen should set an example. Due to its size as a buyer, it possesses a market power that can and should contribute significantly to shaping a sustainable future. The goods that can be procured sustainably are diverse - from office equipment to consumables such as paper or fuel-saving company cars.
- The information leaflet of the Umweltbundesamt offers an introduction into the topic.
- More information can be found in this information leaflet of the Umweltbundesamt.
- How different sustainability criteria can be taken into account is explained by the "Kompass Nachhaltigkeit öffentliche Beschaffung".
- A variety of best practice examples is listed on the website of the "Kompetenzstelle für nachhaltige Beschaffung".
