Department of State Law

Director: Prof. Dr. Christine Langenfeld

The central research focus of the department of State law lies on German constitutional law including a comparative and international, in particular European perspective. Further fields of research are institutional law of the EU and European law against discrimination (main focus lies on equal treatment of man and woman). The department also does research on migration/integration law and education law in a both national and international/comparative perspective. The relationship between state and religion is also a current topic insofar as the “immigration” of the religion of Islam into Germany and Europe offers special challenges.
