Individual Counselling during the Initial Stage

What happens after matriculation? Initial stage counselling at the Central Student Advisory Service is a service for first-semester students at Göttingen University.

The counselling interview covers questions regarding the individual organisation of studies that commonly arise at the beginning of university studies. The process of becoming independent from one’s parents and the overall change of the living conditions may also be addressed. Together with the counsellor, you can address your questions of how you should tackle the challenges brought about by your university studies, possibly in a strange city, and transform them into a personal gain for yourself. Furthermore you can discuss individual problematic situations that may have arisen as a consequence of a hochschulstart.de move-up procedure or a lottery procedure.

A counselling interview lasts between 20 and 60 minutes; in case of more complex questions, we can arrange for more than one interview.
