Project Outline

Ecosystems change due to anthropogenic influence rapidly around the world and land-use intensification is the strongest driver of biodiversity loss in tropical biomes. Aim of the study is to understand the influences and consequences of land conversion and land-use intensification on tropical leaf litter invertebrate communities. Besides taxonomic diversity the effect on functional diversity is assessed and evaluated. Different diversity metrics like functional redundancy and response diversity are calculated, what will illustrate the relationship between biodiversity, ecosystem functioning and ecosystem resilience.
