SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

Besides my fascination with the elegance of genetic regulatory mechanisms, my major interests are particularly in the field of protein biochemistry. In my opinion it is interesting how proteins interact with each other specifically in the thick soup of the cytoplasm, leading to certain cellular responses. In order to elucidate the mechanisms of those pathways as a basis for medical and biotechnological research, I am looking forward to getting to know many state-of-the-art techniques as well as to improving my existing experience especially in mass spectrometry in the course of this program.
