IPB University

The IPB University was established in 1963. It has about 22,000 students and is among the most excellent universities in Indonesia. The University of Göttingen has long-standing and intensive relations with IPB and extensive experience with the exchange of students, scientific staff and joint research projects. IPB and the University of Göttingen have collaborated formally already since 1991. Since then more than 100 Indonesian students have graduated in Master study programs at the University of Göttingen under the umbrella of the Centre for Tropical and Subtropical Agriculture and Forestry (SeTSAF); a number of these Indonesian students conducted their field research in the framework of the CRC 552 in Central Sulawesi and also during Phase 1 of the CRC in Jambi. Moreover, a Göttingen alumni organisation has been founded at IPB in 2013. In 2014 they launched - with the financial support of IPB - an alumni lounge equipped with PCs with direct access to the University Library in Göttingen.
