Workshop-Special Design Thinking

The workshop
Design Thinking has become an extremely popular approach to problem-solving. And problem-solving is innate to any individual, be they researchers, students, faculty or other folk. The goal of this workshop is to give you a hands-on, activity-based experience of problem-solving using the Design Thinking process. We will teach you the fundamentals and take you through the entire Design Thinking journey, thereby equipping you with the input you need to come up with innovative strategies and ideas for solving small and big problems alike.

What is Design Thinking?
Design Thinking is a human centred approach to innovation that draws from the experience and toolkit of designers in order to address and integrate the needs of people before coming up with solutions. Design Thinking is one of the fundamental building blocks of exploring problem-solution fit in the process of designing and planning any type of new intervention, product or service.

Speaker: Barbara Diehl
Barbara Diehl is a passionate entrepreneuship educator. Her extensive experience in entrepreneurship and innovation is based on over 10 years of working in various knowledge transfer settings, many in the field of entrepreneurship and venture creation at the University of Oxford’s Entrepreneurship Centre (2008-2015) based at Said Business School, the Innovation Academy at University College Dublin (UCD), Helmholtz Center and SPRIND. Her particular strengths is working with researchers and scientists on their early-stage venture ideas and supporting them at the various stages of the process.
