Economists discuss current research results

In turbulent economic times, the Faculty of Business and Economics is hosting the 22nd Göttingen Workshop "International Economic Relations". About 40 academics from Germany and numerous other European countries will be dealing with, among other things, the effects of globalization, the strategies of multinational corporations, and the consequences of increasing protectionism. Other topics include the effects of international trade flows, migration and the importance of international value chains. The workshop will take place from 19 to 21 February at the Oeconomicum at Platz der Göttinger Sieben 3.

The conference is organized by the Chair of International Economics at the Faculty of Business and Economics in cooperation with the Seminar for International Economic Relations at the LMU Munich and the Center for European, Governance and Development Studies Göttingen (cege). The workshop sees itself as a platform for the promotion of cross-institutional cooperation and is also aimed at high-calibre young academics. "The event offers what is probably a unique opportunity in the German-speaking world to discuss one's own research results face-to-face with such a large number of scientists from one's own field and to explore cooperation," emphasize the conference directors Prof. Dr. Carsten Eckel (Munich) and Prof. Dr. Udo Kreickemeier (Göttingen).
