Educational pathways in post-school education – On behalf of Bertelsmann Stiftung– Project duration: 01.11.2021 - 31.07.2022

Brief description:

The aim of the project is to systematize post-school educational trajectories and visualize different forms of educational discontinuities. A particular focus is on analyzing the relationship between post-school educational discontinuity and socio-economic, origin-related and performance-related risk factors of adolescents.
On the one hand, it is expected to generate more differentiated findings for transition research in Vocational Education and Training (VET). On the other hand, the results will serve to identify research and development challenges between leaving general school and subsequent pathways into the labor market by full-qualifying or prevocational programs and catching up on school-leaving qualifications or higher education.
For this purpose, data from cohort 4 of the National Education Panel will be used. Sequence and cluster analyses are used to identify patterns of educational trajectories within 48 months after leaving general education. The influence of different risk factors is examined by multivariate models.
