Estimating Productivity: Composite Operators for Keystroke Level Modeling (Oracle)

Partner: Oracle USA

Project duration: Initial phase 02/2010 - 10/2010

Methods: Literature analysis, field study, experiment

Description and results:

In the paper „Estimating Productivity: Composite Operators for Keystroke Level Modeling” Jeff Sauro presents a refined way to predict the time users are going to need to perform certain tasks on a software product using a given interface and path to follow.
The purpose of the project is to validate or falsify the fact that a prediction of task completion time with composite KLM operators is not significantly less accurate than a prediction with the operators the classic KLM provide.
The project goal is to perform a validation study on different tasks with a larger population (consisting probably mainly of German university students).
