Göttingen Talk on "Security and Trust in the Information Society"

Security holes of a major financial service provider, extensive data collection of social networks or the phishing attack on German emission trading – current media coverage reflects the changing role of security and trust in the information society. Technical, legal, corporate and individual challenges that come along with the development of the internet, were in the focus of the Göttinger Talk on “Security and Trust in the Information Society”. It was organised by the Lichtenberg-Kolleg and the Chair of Microeconomics of the University of Göttingen.

To introduce the topic, Volkmar Lotz, SAP Research, gave a presentation on “Security and Trustworthy Service-based Value Networks”. Afterwards, he discussed the topic with further experts: Jacques Bus, Head of the Unit „Security“ in the Directorate General „Information Society and Media“ of the European Commission, Prof. Dr. Lutz M. Kolbe, Chair of Information Management at the University of Göttingen, and Prof. Dr. Gerald Spindler, Chair of Economic Law at the University of Göttingen.
