Exchange of research at an international level

The Faculty of Business and Economics welcomes and supports the exchange of research at an international level. Guest professors from abroad also help enrich course offerings each semester, as well as the many doctoral students and post-doctoral researchers from abroad. There are also an increasing number of courses offered in English, as the faculty seeks to create an attractive environment for students from abroad (as well as exchange students). Currently, there are around 500 international students enrolled at the Faculty.

International double-degree programmes

The Department of Economics offers a German-language master's degree programme, Master of Arts in International Economics as well as a purely English-language programme, Master of Arts in Development Economics. These programmes include a requirement to study abroad, but can also be combined with international double-degree programmes. In the International Economics programme, there is a partnership with the Master of Science in International Business and Economics programme at Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. Students in the Master of Development Economics programme have the opportunity to acquire a second degree either from Stellenbosch University in South Africa (Master of Commerce in Economics) or from the University of Florence in Italy (Master of Economics and Development) or from the University of Clermont Auvergne in France (Master mention Economie du Développement).

The Department of Business Administration offers a double degree programme with the Ghent University Faculty for Economics and Business Administration (in Belgium). Within four semesters, well-qualified students can complete both a MSc degree in finance, accounting, and taxes at the University of Göttingen, as well as a parallel MSc degree in business economics (with a focus on corporate finance or accounting) at Ghent University. Within the framework of the master's degree programme in global business, the department offers a double-degree programme with Nanjing University in China.
