As per the latest figure from the Federal Statistical Office of Germany the number of Indian students in Germany has grown by 18.44% over the last year and stands at 20,810 (Winter Semester 2018-19). The total number of international students in Germany has grown by 5.3%. The rate of growth in the number of Indian students going to Germany is almost four times that of the global average.

India has recently emerged as an important scientific and technological leading country through its impressive and growing network of excellent universities and institutions. As such, both University of Göttingen and Freie Universität Berlin have selected India as one of the key strategic regions for academic cooperation. Our main aim is to facilitate, coordinate and support the academic exchange activities and cooperation projects with partner institutions in India. Institutional visits and information sessions have been organised on regular basis with partners and non Indian partners. However, with the COVID-19 pandemic, we are no longer able to conduct on site visits. This online information session thus aims to reach out to students and researchers with an opportunity to study and research in Göttingen and Berlin.
