Johanna Kühn, M.A.

Johanna Kühn is a doctoral candidate and research fellow at the Institute of Social and Cultural Anthropology with a regional focus on the Middle East. Furthermore, she is the academic coordinator of the ERC-project 693457 Private Pieties, Mundane Islam and New Forms of Muslim Religiosity: Impact on Contemporary Social and Political Dynamics. Johanna Kühn studied Social and Cultural Anthropology, Sociology and Economics at the University of Bayreuth and the University of Goettingen. In her dissertation she focuses on contemporary forms of spirituality and global esoteric practices in Lebanon.
