| Orientation days Every winter semester in the week before the lectures start, the faculty welcomes the first-year students (freshmen) with orientation days. During this “O-days” you will get a first look around the faculty and will receive all the information you need to start off successfully into your studies. This includes the presentation of the lecturers and their respective research areas. Students from higher semesters will show you everything a forestry student in Göttingen needs to know: the faculty, the city, the student union (“Studentenwerk”), the canteens (“Mensen”), the library, the student’s counsil (“Fachschaft”) and, of course, Göttingen’s bars and nightlife.
