Lower Saxony – Scotland Tandem Fellowship Programme

Lower Saxony – Scotland Tandem Fellowship Programme

Researchers who have completed their PhD within the last ten years and have an employment contract with a Scottish or Lower Saxonian higher education institution are invited to apply for the programme. The tandem concept foresees that two researchers from both regions form a partnership working on a joint project.

Funds will support short-term stays (up to six month) for each researcher with up to 1.200 Euro per month. While such residency is appreciated and encouraged it is not a requirement that both tandem partners leave their home institution for a research stay. There is no restriction regarding the choice of the theme or subject.

All proposals must be submitted in English until August 31, 2021 using the application form and annexes provided on the ECAS Website. Each partner fills out a separate form and names his or her tandem partner on it. If you don’t have a partner yet, but wish to submit an excellent project idea, ECAS will support you prior to the deadline in identifying suitable partners in Lower Saxony or Scotland.

Further information on the programme, the application procedure as well as the list of participating institutions (which is constantly being expanded) can be found here.

Lower Saxony – Scotland Joint Forum 2022

The European Center for Advanced Studies (ECAS) in cooperation with Leuphana University Lüneburg and the University of Glasglow cordially invites you to the third edition of the Lower Saxony – Scotland Joint Forum. The Lower Saxony – Scotland Joint Forum is an annual conference designed to foster the relationship between higher education institutions within both regions by establishing lasting links between academics, staff and students. The Forum enables academics, staff and students from all universities and higher education institutions across Scotland and Lower Saxony to expand their existing relationships, network and establish new collaborations.

On the first day you may expect interesting discussions concerning most recent political and societal changes. On the second day the participants are invited to host their own workshops to present and discuss their joint projects on any topic they deem relevant in the context of the cooperation of Lower Saxony and Scotland.

For further Information on how to host your own workshop please find the “Open Call for Workshops” below. The deadline to submit a short Workshop proposal of 2–3 pages is September 15, 2022.

The Joint Forum takes place online on Monday, November 21, and Tuesday, November 22, 2022 as a hybrid conference and is free of charge. Please register here.
