Fabian Brambach conducts research on the dynamics of plant diversity under the different land-use regimes in the EFForTS project region. Building on the progress made during the first two project phases, he and the B06 team focus on the phylogenetic and functional dimensions of plant diversity from plot- to landscape scale. He holds a leading role in the Landscape Assessment field work and coordinates the ongoing collection of plant material for phylogenetic functional trait analyses in close cooperation with B04 and B14.

Aiming to overcome the general lack of knowledge about Sumatra’s flora, Fabian is responsible for the correct identification of plant species and develops tools for plant identification including rapid colour guides and the continuous improvement of the EFForTS Sumatra Plant Database.
