Prof. em. Rudolf Heitefuß

Research

In the group of Prof. Heitefuss research was conducted concerning the following topics:

  • Genetic variation of Cirsium arvense populations in cropping systems as a basis of efficient Control

  • Development of economic weed thresholds in cereal crops and oilseed rape (Schäfer 1995, Werner 1996). Furthermore disease/yield loss relations of powdery mildew on winter wheat were investigated (Bruns 1996).

  • Herbological and phytopathological aspects of extensivation were studied in the INTEX-project (Steinmann 1995, Kakau 1996, Heitefuss, Kakau und Lehrke 1997) and in field studies on low intensity cereal production (Eilers 2000).

  • Methods were developed for the detection of Verticillium dahliae in oilseed rape and in soil (Theuerkauf 1995, Heppner 1995).

  • Mesophyllic- and epidermal protoplasts were isolated from barley leaves. Interactions with powdery mildew (Erysiphe graminis f. sp. hordei) were studied by microscopic, biochemical and molecular means (Arrabali Luque-Mäder 1998).
