Topic: Species Composition and Stand Structure of Mixed Deciduous Forests and Site Adaptability of Dominant Tree Species in Myanmar
Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Ralph Mitlöhner

The study aims to conduct at three different types of mixed deciduous forests in Myanmar. Firstly, tree species composition and forest stand structure of mixed deciduous forests will be investigated. Moreover, site adaptability of dominant tree species will be examined by the results from the laboratory experiments of leaf and wood osmotic potentials of dominant tree species in the different types of mixed deciduous forests. It is expected to provide the crucial information of the site adapted tree species for reforestation programs with the focus of ecological and economic values and the floristic composition and stand structure of mixed deciduous forests to implement the most important silvicultural operations for the sustainable forest management of mixed deciduous forests in Myanmar.
