The seminar would like to give the opportunity to discuss and reflect on the topic of diversity in German university from the perspective of international doctoral candidates. The seminar is divided into three phases. The first phase involves an exchange of concrete experiences in the university (interactions with colleagues or students; differences and discrimination experiences; university career in Germany and exit possibilities). The second phase is to reflect on the concepts used to discuss these different experiences (for instance diversity, discrimination, difference, culture, etc.). In the third phase, we will reflect on desirable and potential transformations of the so-called German Academic Culture. What changes do you want so you can feel more comfortable in the German Academic Culture? And what changes are you willing to tackle yourself?
