Major Research Interests

Biological structure formation/morphogenesis and ageing.
Our group is interested in the molecular and cell-biological mechanisms how biological structures are formed. Specifically we investigate epithelial morphogenesis (epithelial compartment formation, role of actin dynamics and Rho signalling), how cell cycle modes switch and how the slam RNA-protein complex controls membrane invagination. Recently we started to apply quantitative and biophysical approaches. We also study control of nuclear size and shape and its link to ageing.
