Arrival in Göttingen

Upon your arrival in Göttingen some formal things must be attended to.

Each student must...

  • obtain a health insurance - health insurance is mandatory in Germany.
  • open a bank account and and pay matriculation fee (see matriculation).
  • register and acquire a residence permit at the town hall (Neues Rathaus).
  • enrol in the university (see matriculation).
