The Centre for Empirical Research into School and Education of the Georg-August University Göttingen (ZeUS) is an interdisciplinary merger of educational studies and the specialized didactics departments at the University of Göttingen.
The following institutions have double membership in the centre:
- Members of the Department of Educational Psychology at the Georg Elias Müller Institute of the Faculty of Biology,
- Members of the Educational Institute of the Faculty of Social Sciences, as well as
- Members of the specialised didactic departments of the corresponding faculties.

The objective of ZeUS at the University of Göttingen is to merge the existing scientific resources of empirically oriented teaching and school research with educational studies, educational psychology and specialised didactics into an interdisciplinary network. By maximising the synergies of these resources, the centre aims to initiate interdisciplinary research, promote young scholars, particularly in specialised didactics, and improve the quality of teachers’ training.
