Prof. Dr. Heiner Bielefeldt

Guest speaker in the Euroculture programme in Göttingen in the winter semester 2011.

Professor Dr. Heiner Bielefeldt received his PhD in Philosophy from the University of Tübingen in 1989. He specializes in human rights and human rights politics and is an instructor at Frideich-Alexander-Universität in Erlangen-Nürnberg since 2009.

Next to his academic position, he is also acting as United Nations Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Religion or Belief.

His research fields include Theory and Practice of Human Rights, Political Intellectual History, Philosophical Ethics, Legal Philosophy, Intercultural Philosophy.

Prof. Dr. Bielefeldt held a public lecture on "Freedom of Religion in a Secular State" at the University of Göttingen.
