Enjoy what you do, be flexible and follow through

After investing many years in graduate and post-graduate schools, it is understandable that we all would like to be successful in one way or the other in our careers. There are many challenges to overcome not only in the daily work but also outside, related to family and especially children, who deserve our highest commitment. In such a scenario, it becomes extremely important to be in the right job, meaning to really enjoy what we do. After having switched jobs between three different countries and also changed from the academic environment to industry, I have found that flexibility and persistence are key for any career development. I would like to share with you my personal experience and my challenges and opportunities in my current position as Head of Exploratory Pathology at Roche.
