Knut Kielmann

Knut Kielmann studied Linguistics, Psychology and Philosophy of Science at the University of Leipzig. In his thesis he dealt with syntactic parsing processes during sentence perception. After having finished his studies in 2010, he spent five months at the Max-Planck-Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences (MPI CBS) in Leipzig. During his presence at the Department Psychology he investigated processes of action simulation and the impact of several social factors during the execution of a planned action. Subsequently he joined the Donders Centre for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour (DCC) in Nijmegen for six months. He investigated processes of word perception in Embodied Theories of Language (ETLs) with behavioral and electrophysiological methods. The realized study examined the temporal dynamics of retrieval for different kinds of conceptual information.
Since February 2011 he is a PhD student of Prof. Annekathrin Schacht and part of the Junior Research Group `Experimental Psycholinguistics` at the CRC ´Text Structures´ in Göttingen. His current PhD project explores the impact of emotional information from different domains on sentence processing.
