2014 CHE University Ranking Results

The recent evaluation by the Centre for Higher Education (CHE) ranked the Faculty of Economic Sciences highly, placing the departments of business administration, economics, and business information systems in the highest to average ranking groups.

In particular, the study found that students were very satisfied with their education, who themselves ranked the quality of their faculty as above average. Amongst business administration students, for example, the study found that criteria such as "overall education", "learning opportunities", and "support for studying abroad" were ranked the highest.

Also, the economics department was ranked very high in terms of research, such as publications and funding for research. The department for business information systems placed in the top rankings for "overall education", "learning opportunities", and "real world applicability".

In their evaluation, CHE incorporated information about courses, teaching, facilities, and research, as well as results from surveying students and professors at the respective university. Instead of a definitive ranking of the participating universities, the CHE orders universities and institutes of higher education according to their own ranking system of three indicators (top, middle, and bottom).

The ranking includes 37 subjects, and according to CHE, is the most comprehensive and detailed ranking of German universities and institutes of higher education. Every year, one-third of the assessed subjects are re-evaluated:
