Curriculum Vitae

I was appointed Senior Lecturer (Akademischer Rat) at the University of Göttingen in November 2016. Before coming to Göttingen, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (Paris), where I was involved in an international research project on professional development in multinational companies in France and Germany. I studied at the Universities of Passau, Vienna and Paris 8 and received my master's and doctoral degree from the University of Paris 8 in 2014. While working on my doctoral thesis, I held teaching positions at the Institut d'Études Politiques of Strasbourg and at the University of Paris 8.

My thesis "Writing within the Folds of Welfare Law: A Sociology of the File" analyses ordinary legal practices through the way citizens try to gain access to law in various institutions of the French welfare system.

My research interests centre on the sociology of the welfare state, the sociology of law, the sociology of work and the ethnography of literacy. I am currently developing a research project on the sociology of ombudsman institutions.
