Study Prerequisites

Applicants for the BA degree programmes in English (teaching-oriented), English: Language, Literatures and Cultures (non-teaching-oriented), North American Studies and English for Vocational Schools have to fulfil several prerequisites: they must provide

• a university entrance qualification (Abitur or Fachabitur; A-levels or equivalent)
• proof of English language skills (due at the latest by 15 July after enrollment; see the Admission Regulations)
• in case of a non-German university entrance certificate: proof of German language skills at level DSH-2 (for further information see Prüfungsordnung für die Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang)

Students interested in taking up a teaching-oriented BA degree programme are not required to have done a practical before starting their studies.
