More than 4,600 students
In the 2016/17 winter term, more than 4,600 students were enrolled at the Faculty of Economic Sciences. Across the University, around 31,470 students were enrolled, bringing the enrolment level close to the 1994 all-time high of 31,641 students.

On 16 October, the beginning of the lecture period in the winter term, the Faculty of Economic Sciences welcomed 1,051 incoming students (bachelor: 811; master: 240). In the 2017 summer term, 533 students commenced their studies at the faculty (bachelor: 330; master: 203).

Around 786 students graduated from the faculty in 2017, with either a bachelor's or master's degree (bachelor: 463; master: 323), and 49 research associates successfully completed a doctoral degree.

2017 CHE University Ranking Results
The Faculty of Economic Sciences was ranked very well in the current university ranking of the Centre for Higher Education (CHE), and ranked among the top and middle groups in the evaluated fields of business administration, economics, and business information systems. In particular, students were satisfied with their general academic situation and gave the faculty an above average ranking.

Graduates of the Faculty are satisfied with their studies and jobs
Graduates of the Faculty are also very satisfied with their professional careers. They require, on average, around 3 months to find a job, generally work as employees (as opposed to independent contractors), generally in a permanent contract capacity, and earn between €3,000 to €4,000 gross per month. Almost 40% of the respondents also stated that their academic qualifications were highly or very highly applicable to their jobs. The basis for the results was the alumni questionnaire, which is being implemented since 2015. The class of 2015 responses to the questionnaire was published in 2017. 1,358 students from all fields of study participated in the survey, which comprises 42.4% of graduates. In the Faculty of Economic Sciences, 549 graduates were contacted, of which 218 responded to the survey. This corresponds to a response rate of 39.71%.

Internationalization: new cooperation and partnerships with international universities
The Faculty of Economic Sciences is continuously developing its network of renowned, international partner universities and thereby creating attractive study abroad opportunities for its students. In addition to the more than 60 European partner universities (ERASUMS), the Faculty has partnered with around 22 international universities in 17 countries across the globe. New partnerships include, for example, the University of EAFIT in Columbia, the University of Pretoria in South Africa, and the City University of Hong Kong.

The Faculty of Economic Sciences has also successfully secured scholarships for its exchange programmes with the University of Fudan (Shanghai) and Stellenbosch University (South Africa). The Faculty, on two occasions, successfully received funding from the "Internationale Studien- und Ausbildungspartnerschaften" (International Study and Education Partnership) grant of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The Faculty of Economic Sciences can award three students per semester scholarships to attend a partner university. Both approved programmes also include funding for the exchange of visiting lecturers. The scholarship programme with the University of Fudan has been approved until 2021, with a budget of €225,000, and the programme with the University of Stellenbosch has been approved until 2019, with a budget of €111,000.
