Dr. Mailin Antomo

From 2002 to 2008, Mailin studied German and French philology at the University of Mainz and at the University of Dijon. Afterwards, she was a PhD student at the graduate program "Sentence types: variation and interpretation" funded from the German national research foundation (DFG) at the University of Frankfurt a. M.
Since 2009, she has been a lecturer for Linguistics at the Department of German Philology in Göttingen. In August 2013, she defended her dissertation on "Embedded clauses in a question-based discourse model", supervised by Prof. Dr. Markus Steinbach and Prof. Dr. Anke Holler. In her dissertation, she investigates which embedded clauses can be used to express at-issue-information and which further formal and functional properties (such as projection out of the scope of an entailment-cancelling operator or Verb-second order) correspond to the discourse-functional status of these embedded clauses.
Her research interests focus on the semantics-pragmatics interface, text and discourse structure and linguistics at school.
