Marta Kipke, M.A.

M. Kipke studied art history, classical and late antique archaeology at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen and the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel from 2014 to 2020. Within these more traditional subjects, they found early access to digital methods and were a student assistant in different projects at the Archaeological Institute Göttingen and later at the Institute for Digital Humanitie. In Este Virtuell, Kipke worked on the creation and post-processing of 3D models and was involved in digitization projects in the 3D Campus Lab.

Since August 2021, Kipke has been a research assistant at the Institute for Digital Humanities, working both on the EGRAPHSEN project and being responsible for study regulations and guidance. Current research interests continue to be the challenges of 3D digitization of cultural heritage, but also in the use of artificial intelligence for humanities research and related formalization problems. These are also the subject of Kipke's dissertation project, which deals with the use of Convolutional Neural Networks on Attic vase paintings and related challenges.
