How to get involved as an Alumni
Guest lectures (e.g. graduation ceremonies, Alumni4Students) and portraits of graduates
The faculty would be pleased if you would like to share your practical experience and talk to young people in the context of guest lectures, for example at graduation ceremonies or in the context of lecture series. In addition, we would like to present graduates on our alumni websites, who report in a short portrait about their career entry or their professional career. If you would like to share your experiences or have other stories to tell, please feel free to contact us. The contact person is Gesche Quent, the faculty's representative for communication and marketing.
The Alumni Association of the University of Göttingen, Alumni Göttingen, organizes every semester the lecture series "Alumni4Students" with practical lectures and workshops by graduates of the Georgia Augusta for current students. The alumni provide exciting insights into everyday working life and career and thus provide valuable suggestions for career orientation: More information (in German)
The university's Gründungsförderung (start-up support) advises and supports young business start-ups with numerous offers, in which alumni can also be involved. The team is always looking for speakers for various events and mentors for so-called start-up teams who would like to share their wealth of experience with young entrepreneurs: More information (Start-up support)
Young students could be supported, for example, with a Germany scholarship.
This is how the scholarship works: With a donation of 1,800 euros, you as a sponsor can finance a Germany scholarship (Deutschlandstipendium). Each scholarship holder receives a fixed monthly sum of 300 euros or 3,600 euros per year. One half is paid by private sponsors, the other half by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
As a sponsor, you can support directly, personally and individually. For example, you can decide in which faculties and study programmes you would like to support young talents. In addition, you have the opportunity to network with the university and the region: More information
