Axel Dreher is professor of International and Development Politics at Heidelberg University. He has published numerous articles in refereed journals, among them the International Economic Review, Journal of Development Economics, International Organization and the Journal of International Economics.

He is Editor of the Review of International Organizations, ranks 6th according to the Handelsblatt Ranking of the best publishing researchers in the German-speaking area and is the author of the KOF Index of Globalization. Most of his current research is in the field of political economy, economic development, and globalization.

Axel Dreher is Affiliated Professor at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen. He participates in the EU-sponsored project "Indexing Trafficking in Human Beings" and the DFG-sponsored Research Training Group Globalization and Development.
