Statistical methods for time-varying electrophysiological data and for protein-membrane interactions

We will develop statistical methods to model and evaluate electrophysiological data including ion channel recordings with time-varying membrane potential or tension. We further aim to get precise insight into the resolution limit for estimating event times. Extending previous work on the effective dimensionality reduction of the configurational dynamics of membrane protein complexes, we will study the relation between collective protein dynamics and the dynamics of multiple, individual lipids, which requires extension of partial least squares methodology to the multi-dimensional setting.
