Support Services

There are a number of special services at CeTSAF, with a long tradition of success, to meet students’ academic needs and to make them feel comfortable socially from the very beginning untill after finishing their studies.

Two regular mentors (experienced professors) per student supervise the development and performance of the individual study plan, fieldwork and thesis. Tutorials, conducted by graduate teaching assistants, deal in greater detail with the material covered in lectures and seminars. An orientation period and individual tutoring help students to overcome difficulties they might encounter during their stay at the Centre.

Whenever required, language training in English and intensive ‘survival courses’ in German are available. Upon request, students may take advantage of a broad language option for the presentation of their exam papers and/or thesis: Spanish, French or Portuguese can be accepted as alternatives to English or German.

CeTSAF provides comprehensive administrative support with regard to centrally located, affordable student and faculty accommodation as well as residency, health, accident and liability insurance requirements, and other formalities.
