Study at CeMIS

In addition to its research programme, the University of Göttingen’s Centre for Modern Indian Studies (CeMIS) offers an innovative study programme at the BA and MA level. Important fields of study are political and economic changes in modern India, social inequality, as well as cultural and religious diversity.

Each of these degree programmes offers a set of interdisciplinary courses taught by CeMIS researchers, international guest lecturers and by professors in the humanities, social and economic sciences at the University of Göttingen. Students in the BA programmes receive a broad knowledge on modern India. The focus of the English language MA is on the academic discourse about current developments in India.
