Exchange opportunities outside Europe - Tuition Waver Program
Prerequisites for Participation
All students of the University of Göttingen can apply for exchange programmes with partner universities in the USA, Argentina, Australia, China, Colombia, India, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Canada, Costa Rica, Russia, Mexico, South Africa, South Korea and Taiwan. In the right-hand column, you will find a list of partner institutions and a link to reports from your fellow students who have already studied at one of the partner institutions.
Please make sure that the programmes at the respective institution match your studies. Please also note that the lessons at partner universities in Latin America are given in Spanish language. Applicants for Latin America must therefore demonstrate sufficient Spanish language skills.
A semester abroad in the USA offers the possibility of a one-year language teaching assistant position. Please note that a stay at the three colleges is only possible at the Bachelor level, and at the University of Colorado at the Master level. Prior teaching experience is desirable.
1st of June for the following summer semester
1st of December for the following winter semester
Please note that a stay abroad in North America always begins in the winter semester. Therefore, there is only one application deadline (1 December) annually.
The length of stay is usually one semester, although in exceptional cases the stay can be extended to two semesters. For stays at Hope College, Amherst College, Colorado College and at the University of Colorado Boulder, two semesters are planned, as these are in conjunction with a one-year language teaching assistant commitment.
Please apply online here: Online application . Fill out the forms, upload the required documents and confirm your application. After the selection procedure, applicants will be informed about the decision and successful applicants will be nominated for studies at the partner institution.
