Appointment as Judge of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers (KSC)

Prof. Dr. Kai Ambos - Cosovo Sondertribunal

Prof. Kai Ambos has been appointed as Judge of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers (KSC) after a competitive national and international selection procedure (the founding States have nominated 92 candidates, 9 of them from Germany). The KSC are an international special tribunal which sits at The Hague and has been established by the EU and some further States (Canada, Norway, Switzerland, Turkey and USA) pursuant to a legal basis adopted by the Kosovo Assembly in 2015. Its jurisdiction covers crimes allegedly committed between 1 January 1998 and 31 December 2000 in Kosovo, as especially documented by a Council of Europe report of 2011. more...

Göttinger Jura-Studenten erhalten Niedersachsenpreis 2016 für ehrenamtliches Engagement


Als Initiatoren der Studentischen Rechtsberatung für Ratsuchende der Göttinger Tafel e.V. in Kooperation mit der Juristischen Fakultät sind am 26. November 2016 in Hannover die Göttinger Jura-Studenten Simon Steinhof und Hannes Brost mit einer Prämie in Höhe von 3000,00 EUR aus dem Niedersachsenpreis für Bürgerengagement in der Kategorie Soziales geehrt worden. Ausgeschrieben wird diese Auszeichnung seit 2004 durch die Landesregierung Niedersachen, den Sparkassenverband Niedersachsen (SVN) und die VGH Versicherungen, um vorbildliches bürgerschaftliches Engagement zu würdigen. more...
